Boutique hotel surrounded with elegance and fire safety

The modernly designed boutique hotel and restaurant Milka is located in the embrace of the Alps and the lovely Lake Jasna. Since safety is given the same priority as design, fire doors to the kitchen have not only increased safety, but also highlighted special functionalities for effective access and fire protection.

Fire safety in a kitchen

At the front of kitchen safety is the 500 EFS, an fire escape automatic sliding door strategically placed as the entrance to the kitchen. The door serve as reliable emergency exit and fire barrier between the kitchen and the stairway. This feature is important in kitchens with a higher risk of fire due to open flames, hot surfaces, and cooking equipment.

With a 30-minute fire resistance (EI30), 500 EFS not only prevents the spread of fire but also transform into swing doors during evacuations, ensuring safe escape and rescue from the other side of the door.

Easy access in daily operations

In normal operations, fire escape automatic sliding doors function as a standard automatic sliding door. This enables easy access for the staff to or from the kitchen, especially when their hands are full of plates or trays. The door is equipped with a sensor from both sides that activates the opening of the door, while the safety zone ensures a safe passage during closing within 2,5 m.

At the same time, the hands-free door opening ensures a high level of hygiene for restaurant staff and guests.

Modernity in a traditional environment: the practical use of automatic entrance “on request”

Opok 27, a wineshop surrounded by scenic vineyard landscape, is characterized by fusion of modernity and tradition. By ensuring smooth flow and simple entrance to the kitchen, integrated automatic sliding doors 300 play an important role here for the staff.

Efficiency with touchless Smart access

Touchless access with a Smart Switch provide hands-free entry, which is especially helpful for waiters when their hands are full of food, plates or trays. This not only eases the staff’s job but also improves kitchen hygiene.

With Smart Switch it is possible to regulate detection sensor and adjusting detection zone. In this way, users can move freely around the kitchen or dining room area without triggering the door to open; it only activates when the detection sensor detects the body.

The multifunctional COM 20 switch isn’t just useful for adjusting door settings—it also looks good. Both the COM 20 and Smart Switch add a nice touch to your interior style, so you don’t have to hide them away.

Milky glass for privacy & modern look

The milky glass not only provides privacy and modernity but also complements the black and white interior. Additionally, it helps keep the view into the kitchen hidden and subtly highlights the door.

Modern architecture with safe and efficient design

The integration of automatic sliding doors in the new building for insurance company Sava, designed by Komunaprojekt d.d., highlights safety, efficiency and smart design, symbolizing the company’s dedication to modern environment and a customer-centric approach.

Outstanding main entrance

The building’s main entrance immediately gives off a strong positive impression, thanks to Boon Edam Tourniket-typedoor. The ‘always open/closed’ system of the distinct Tourniket door keeps indoor and outdoor environments separate and provides a suitable solution for highly frequent entrances.

“[…] The main objective was to create a modern facility that met the highest standards in sustainable construction, functionality, representativeness, and distinctive architectural expression.”

– architect Maksim Sešel, Komunaprojekt d.d.

Fire–safety first

Fire safety plays an important role in building construction and 500 EFS meets all the requirements. The 500 EFS model provides safe evacuation by force closing and then transforming into a swing door opening. The closed door acts as a fire barrier with EI30 = 30 min fire resistance, preventing the spread of fire and heat to the other sectors. The door’s main features allow safe escape and rescue.

“I chose to install fire doors in the building to ensure high functionality while complying with all the necessary safety regulations. […] In the case of the Sava Insurance Company building, the primary concern was to ensure the functionality of the sliding doors and safe evacuation through the Doorson’s sliding-leaf system.”

The power of reliability and efficiency

With the installation of the standard 300 and 300 r door type, the building ensures smooth people flow, flexibility and energy efficiency.

“The installation of sliding door systems is suitable for buildings with a high frequency of entrances. These systems offer flexible functionality, ensuring ease of use, fulfill essential requirements and enhance the architectural presence of the building with their clean design.”

The 300 r door type in a redundant version enables smooth everyday passage and safe evacuation in emergency situations, featuring a unique drive system. In case of an emergency, it automatically opens and stays open, making it safer and more reliable.

The standard 300 door type provides efficient use of energy and safety. Whenever the doors are STILL, in CLOSED or OPEN mode, the door controller falls in SAVE MODE. Therefore, energy consumption drops to 0.4 Wh, which means lower electricity costs.

Entryway illumination: Add elegance to your entrance

At the intersection of two roads in Ljubljana stands an impressive business building consisting of three parts, with the most unique being the round six-story section that gives the building its name – Rotonda. The architecture of the business building is beautifully complemented by smart design of automatic sliding doors, ensuring easy and touchless access for employees. Door is located at the main entrance leading to the upper floor with the offices.

Harmony of light and movement

Rotonda entrance is elegantly designed. Glass door leaves and facade allow plenty of sunlight into the reception lobby. Square door shape is nicely continued throughout the entire entryway with the use of lights. 300 standard sliding door offers options to choose from different frame colors. In case of this entrance, aluminum profile color perfectly matches the grey color of walls. Door installed between the facade walls with a simple design and slim frames complementing space’s look.

Make it practical, simple and and easy to use

In addition to its esthetic appeal, automatic sliding door at entrance of business building is also highly practical. It provides fast, controlled and hands-free access and at the same time, it provides energy efficiency. When the door is in stop, closed or open mode, controller falls in to save mode, while energy consumption drops to 0.4 Wh. This is highly energy efficient in comparison to other doors on the market which have an electric consumption of 20-30Wh.

Quick and simple through the hospital door

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust cares for people in Walsall and nearby regions. Its main priority is to strive for collaboration and equal opportunities. Entrances have been improved by widening it within limited space, making it easier to move around. These improvements have also enhanced the ability to maintain high hygiene standards.

Space-saving flexibility

The main challenge for the Hospital Walsall project was the space constraints of a narrow entrances into the Urgent & Emergency Care Centre. Telescopic automatic sliding doors 300 T are the perfect solution for such cases. They can achieve a wider opening even in the narrowest places, providing an efficient entrance with the largest possible opening. Smooth operation that saves space is an excellent option for all solutions with limited area.

The advantages of hands-free access

In healthcare environments, everything matters. Ensuring that everyone can move around easily and quickly is very important. Besides the health and comfort of patients, hygiene is the top priority. Cleanliness is a key factor in maintaining a healthy and sterile environment. Touchless technology is a smart and practical way to open doors without touching them. A sensor on the door detects movement, reducing bacterial transmission and keeping everything clean and safe.

Time-saving solutions

In critical moments like medical emergencies, every second counts. Getting to the hospital quickly is vital for emergency patients. A fast response from medical staff improves the chances of survival. In these situation, quick and easy passage through the door is important. Doors should not function as barriers or slow down movement between rooms.

Quick and safe way out in case of an emergency

On the other hand, the door also plays a crucial role in ensuring safe evacuation during emergencies. To ensure safety, it needs an efficient and functional emergency exit system that can handle a large flow of people. The doors with redundancy system are equipped with an emergency switch close to the entrance, providing an emergency opening. In the event of an emergency, fire alarm or power failure, the door automatically opens and stays open, allowing for the safe evacuation of people.

Icelandic Oasis: A blend of charming interior & efficient automatic sliding entrances

Hotel Reykjavik Saga is an elegant 4-star hotel designed with full respect to the surrounding buildings in a modern style that reflects Icelandic tradition. Automatic sliding doors perfectly complement the hotel’s architecture with smart design, easy accessibility and superior appearance on the main entrance and further impress with a simple passage to the open terrace of the restaurant.

MAIN ENTRANCES: Impressed by the gold and anthracite combination

The Hotel Saga gently invites guests and visitors through two different and efficient automatic sliding entrances, shaped in a vestibule: Two standard automatic sliding doors 300 2L/2S with fixed side and top screens make a grand first impression on both sides. With insulated profiles and insulating safety glass, they contribute to significant energy savings.

On the right side of the hotel facade, milky glass and the golden profile color elegantly draw attention to the main entrance, which leads to the hotel lobby with reception. Anthracite door profiles on the inside create a contrast with the transparency of the glass and a subtle connection with the interior.

From the left, doors allow hands-free access to the prestigious restaurant Fröken Reykjavik Kitchen & Bar. The product further impresses with a bold but simple combination of anthracite frames with glass that creates a classic look with a cool and elegant vibe.

In both cases, energy-efficient entrances with integrated sensor act as a functional barrier that prevents the entry of cold / hot air with no effect on the smooth people flow.

RESTAURANT: Modern style, comfortable access

The green oasis inspires you to sit down and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere with good food and efficient service. The glass standard automatic sliding door 300 2L/2S completes the modern restaurant and offers a simple and touchless entry to the summer terrace for everyone.

With the sophisticated and modest implementation of insulated profiles in white, the door functions as part of a glass wall. It provides a functional overview of the space from both sides and allows natural light to enter the room.

The entire ceiling is decorated with greenery, which undoubtedly adds a tropical touch to the interior of the restaurant.

A blend of modernity, tradition & advanced technology

Pension Pibernik, a guest house with a soul, is located in a peaceful and quiet location in the beautiful surroundings of Bled, where the award-winning and most-watched Slovenian comedy Pr’Hostar was filmed. The interior of the hotel is characterized by traditional architecture, which is complemented with a modern look and functionality by the fire automatic sliding door 500 F as a dividing line between the living and restaurant area, and the automatic sliding door 300 at the entrance to the kitchen.

FIRE DOOR: A safe connection between the guest house and the dining room

The single-leaf non-evacuation fire automatic sliding door 500 F (1L/1S) works as a functional division of two spaces: the main traditional area of the guest house with access to the apartments, and the new part that connects the dining room and the kitchen.

In normal operation, the door provides easy touchless access for guests and employees. On the way to the dining room, the sensor detects the human body and enables hands-free opening and closing of the door. The multifunctional switch COM 20 provides allows you to change the door mode, as well as the opening and closing speed according to your wishes. The fire door is additionally equipped with an emergency switch, upon its activation the door switches to fire mode.

In emergencies, the door mechanically forcibly closes and creates a safe fire barrier. The fire door leaf consists of fireproofed thermo broken steel profiles with fully insulating fire resistant glass for 30 minutes (EI30). Evacuation through door 500 F is not possible but prevents the fire and heat radiation from spreading to the other side.

KITCHEN: Simple transition and private space

Three automatic sliding doors 300 are integrated between the dining area and the kitchen. The transparent glass door 300 r in a redundant version enables smooth everyday passage and safe evacuation in emergency situations to the dining room. At the entrance to the kitchen, doors with milky glass create a private atmosphere and prevent unwanted views to the other side.

The door offers opening without a touch with a simple wave of the hand, bringing the palm or tray closer to the Smart Switch, which maintains high hygiene standards and enables easy transfer of food and drinks to the self-service buffet.

Black door profiles are the common thread of all automatic sliding doors and bring out clean, attractive lines in the heart of the room. Just as different tastes mix in the kitchen, modernity and tradition, smart design and elegance flirt in the interior.

A new hospitality project Jack & Joe with a special ambiance right next to the Drava River combines an industrial touch and subtle interaction with nature. It additionally impresses with the functionality and sophistication of automatic sliding doors at the entrance to the restaurant and kitchen.

MAIN ENTRANCE: Close connection between the interior and exterior

An architecture with welcoming entrance matters. Automatic sliding door 300 delivers an elegant invitation to the inside and provides greater comfort with a hands-free sensor opening for the user.

Personalized glass door gently connects the interior with the surroundings and maintains visual contact. During the day, it enables a constant flow of daylight into the restaurant area, while in the evening it creates a romantic atmosphere together with the glass wall and night lightning around the building. A big advantage is the possibility of adding decorative stickers that represent the Jack & Joe brand and opening hours right at the entrance.

KITCHEN: Special configuration of ultra high and narrow door

Custom-made double-leaf automatic sliding door 300 with almost 3 m clear opening height and only 990 mm clear opening width makes a statement in the interior. Narrow door appearance and modern black profiles express a timeless simplicity while bringing a contemporary vibe to the restaurant. A closed door represents a functional barrier between the kitchen and dining area, providing an efficient view in both ways.

You can easily open the door with just a wave or by bringing your hand, tray or plate closer to the Smart Switch. Touchless opening ensures a hygienic environment also due to the constant interactivity between two spaces. It definitely provides maximum effectiveness with fast and uninterrupted passage for the waiters.

3 in 1: Hands-free, safe evacuation & rescue

One-A engineering team is the expertise in planning, construction and commissioning of process plants from Austria. In order to ensure uncompromising fire protection on escape routes in their building, two fire escape sliding doors 500 EFS are integrated.

SMART & SECURE. No compromise on fire safety and functionality

The fire door family 500 product line is designed to be durable and safe. The door type 500 EFS, as an innovation in the field of fire automatic sliding door technology, provides high-frequency transition in-out at normal operation. It functions as a standard automatic sliding door and ensures touchless access with sensor detection in both directions.

In this case, the 500 EFS door with a fixed side screen enables optimal light flow and full use of the maximum clear opening height. It is made of VA THERM fireproofed isolated steel profiles (RAL 7022) and laminated fire safety glass = 15mm.

Fire escape sliding doors 500 EFS divide two fire sectors on evacuation routes from the hallway to the staircase.

ESCAPE & RESCUE: Push or pull in case of emergency

Fire safety plays an important role in building construction and 500 EFS meets all the requirements. In emergencies, the mechanical system closes the door and transforms it into a swing door. A simple push on the door leaves enables people to escape from the dangerous area. On the opposite direction, rescue is available with the Flush PULL handle. The closed door acts as a fire barrier for EI30 = 30 min fire resistance, preventing the spread of fire and heat to the rest of the premises.

500 EFS is 100% tested and certified in accordance with all European safety directives and standards: EN 14351-1, EN 14351-2, EN 16034, EN 16361, EN 16005, DIN 18650, EN 179, EN 1154, EN 13501-2 and EN 1155.

Modern architecture and functionality at the entrance

The urban architectural design of the area includes the multi-purpose Intergenerational Center Vezenine and separate buildings with apartments. Automatic sliding doors at both entrances with an emphasis on functionality and esthetic perfection offer free-flowing passage and energy efficiency.

CENTER VEZENINE: The authenticity of wood complemented by aluminum and glass

The traditional look of wood combined with modern architecture is reflected in the exterior and interior of the building. Two automatic sliding doors 300 4L/2S in the shape of a vestibule form an energy-efficient entrance and lead to an open, thoughtfully designed foyer. The functionality of the vestibule allows one door always to be closed while opening, which maintains the temperature in the room and prevents cold air/wind from entering all year round.

The door drive is thoughtfully hidden in the ceiling, which optically enlarges the entrance and gives a sense of openness. Almost 3 m high glass doors with black aluminum profiles work in contrast, but at the same time, they blend elegantly with the light wood paneling.

Touchless entry recreates a pleasant ambiance with a feeling of welcome for visitors and employees.

MULTI-RESIDENTIAL BUILDING BLED: Easy accessibility for all generations

Automatic transitions in buildings where older generations live are a particularly important element, as they ensure simple and, above all, safe access. Right at the main entrance, door 300 4L/2S enables smooth entry into the facility, especially for people with mobility impairments. It is also easy to enter with full hands.

On the left, a glass automatic sliding door 3L/2S leads to a lobby with elevators and a staircase with access to the apartments. This door also acts as a functional barrier that prevents cold/warm air from entering and separates two different spaces. When we want to connect the corridor into one room for reasons of bringing in furniture, etc. put the door in OPEN mode with the multifunctional switch COM 20 and ensure a wide passage.

Both entrances also act as escape routes in emergency situations. For this purpose, the door is in a redundant version, compliant with the EN 16005 standard. Upon the activation of a fire signal, power failure, door malfunction or activation of an emergency switch, the door automatically opens and stays open. Simple and safe evacuation is ensured.

Invisible door integration into modern architecture

The modern hotel on the Croatian island of Brač, with wonderful views of the sea horizon, was designed by architects DIA POZITIVA in collaboration with the authors of the interior, OCD architects. Doorson automatic sliding doors in various locations offer carefree entrances, provide a superior guest experience and complement the hotel’s appearance.

IMPRESSIVE WAY IN: All-glass elegance

The automatic sliding door as a part of the glass facade blends perfectly with the building’s architecture. “The installation of Doorson automatic sliding doors enabled us to accomplish perfect communication between the interior and exterior with a smooth connection of the entrance with the sea view,” explain the architectural bureaus.

Two automatic sliding doors 300 r form an interesting and energy-efficient asymmetric vestibule that prevents the intrusion of wind, which can be extremely strong on the island. In summer, it keeps hot air outside and air-conditioned air inside.

“We decided to install automatic sliding doors at the entrance for the reason of giving guests as easy access as possible. The advantage of such a solution is a hands-free passage, as people often have luggage, suitcases, bags, their hands are full of various things and are usually tired from the journey.”

TERRACE: Hidden door drive, discreet integration

Glass automatic sliding doors provide a bright atmosphere and better accessibility. They create a visually almost invisible but functional transition to the cafeteria and the terrace with the pool.

The OCD architects aimed for the door drive to be completely invisible. In one location, we see a suspended wooden ceiling that hides the door drive, and in the cafe area, the drive is part of the dark facade construction. “When designing the hotel, we used minimal solutions to create a sophisticated design with the feeling of staying in a well-thought-out space.”

Touchless access is a must in providing superior hospitality. “Arrangement of smooth passages is important for us architects because, on the one hand, it allows the staff to move around with full hands, and on the other hand, hotel guests pass through several times during the day to the pool, the beach, for a walk.” This is how architects describe the functionality of hands-free door opening.

Safe evacuation with redundant doors

Besides all the elegance and hospitality, the hotel View also takes care of safety in emergency situations.

Doorson automatic sliding doors 300 r, installed on escape routes, come in a redundant version and are equipped with an emergency switch. In the event of an emergency, fire alarm or power failure, the door automatically opens and stays open, allowing for the safe evacuation of people and goods.

Double 360° entrance at Army Training Hospital

The main entrance to the hospital is typically intended to receive the most traffic flow. Two curved automatic sliding doors upgrade quick and efficient hands-free access and complement the people flow. They leave behind a strong and immediate visual impact.

Greater accessibility, more functionality

A hospital’s entrance fulfills an important role in providing accessibility. Double 360° curved sliding doors 300 C easily accommodate the two-way traffic. They function as an energy-efficient entrance (vestibule) to prevent cold/hot air from entering. The great benefit here is also the clear opening width that saves valuable space within the facade element and ensures that more people can walk through.

Two doors provide greater distance between people and offer a safe and touchless entrance for everyone, especially for people with limited mobility.

Invest in energy-efficiency for better energy performance and sustainability.

70% saving energy and reducing CO2.
Whenever the door is still, in closed or open mode, the door controller falls in save mode, while energy consumption drops to 0.4 Wh.
For example, other doors on the market use 20-30 Wh.

First impression matters

Capture the attention and emphasize the main entry. Custom designed solution 360° acts as a visual detail that highlights the entrance. It is installed to accomplish the feel of bright and open space.

A waterproof roof, sensors and LED lights are integrated, which provide visual exposure at night and esthetically complement the architecture of the building. Double glass doors and color profiles blend perfectly with the visual appearance of the glass facade and offer a greater flow of daylight.

Safety through redundancy

Increasing safety in hospitals is an important part of system reliability.

Both curved sliding doors 300 C come in a redundant version that allows the safe evacuation of people and goods. Safe escape routes are extremely important for hospitals, especially in situations, where patients are immobile or injured and need to be evacuated with hospital beds/wheelchairs.

Wine experience with a view

The architecture of the Vračko winery in its new location completely connects the exterior with the modern interior. Automatic sliding doors act as a visual and functional element in the space due to their high efficiency, flexibility and elegant integration.

TERRACE: Green landscape view

A panoramic glass wall sensually frames the views of the neighboring hills. The double-leaf glass automatic sliding door 300 2L/2S from the floor to ceiling complements it elegantly and functionally connects the interior and exterior. The door enables touchless opening with a sensor and ensures safe passage. The discreet integration of glass doors with matching profiles reflects the complementary look of the glass wall and provides a transparent overview.

KITCHEN ENTRANCE: The essence of easy and functional service

Wine Vračko offers the possibility of wine tasting and dining. The entrance to the kitchen is completed by two automatic sliding doors 300 1L/1S that make it easier for employees to move around with full hands. Milky glass with a gently blurred surface creates privacy that prevents unwanted views into the room. In the embrace of nature: A blend of elegance & functionality

In the pleasant shelter of the forest, just below the Rožnik hill in Ljubljana, a new Hotel Čad with a café and a winter-summer garden was built. The automatic sliding doors on the public ground floor of the hotel express an elegant architectural design and provide a comprehensive experience of hospitality and functionality.

MAIN ENTRANCE WITH RECEPTION: Great first impression

The entrance is the first reception point in the hotel, which co-creates a user experience and a great first impression. The glass automatic sliding door 300 (4L / 2S) serves for the smooth passage of guests with personal luggage and allows natural light to enter the room.

RESTROOMS: Hands-free privacy

A door with a hidden drive in the ceiling ensures a touchless entry into men’s and women’s toilets. On both sides, the door opens with a sensor that detects the presence of people and triggers the opening. Adjustment of the sensor’s detection field prevents the door from opening unnecessarily when pedestrians pass by.

The entrance to the toilets is visually highlighted with a personalized choice of contrasting combination of materials and colors. The color of the profiles on the outside matches the color of the interior wall, making the door profiles almost invisible. The milky glass gently emphasizes the door and creates intimacy in the space.

FROM STAIRCASE TO BISTRO: Automatic access and fire barrier

The constant passage of guests and employees creates an extremely busy transition from the staircase to the hotel bistro. The integration of the NON-ESCAPE fire sliding door 500 F is a functional choice to ensure fire safety and touchless sliding opening / closing in a spatially limited corridor. The color harmony of steel profiles and the drive makes the door almost invisible.

The frameless glass door gently and invisibly separates the restaurant and the executive lounge. A glass wall with a matte sticker enables privacy and prevents unwanted views into the more private part of the bar.

The door is connected to the hotel’s fire safety system. In the fire operation, 500 F acts as a fire barrier with a fire resistance of 30 minutes (EI30) and prevents the spread of fire. Evacuation is possible through an automatic sliding door 300 on the opposite side of the café or through 300 T along the main entrance.

BISTRO WITH GARDEN: Comprehensive overview

Effective guest service requires constant interaction between the café and the terrace. The glass automatic sliding door 300 maintains constant visual contact, provides an overview of events and increases the flow of natural light.

In the winter garden, which has the function of a (sun) terrace in summer, the telescopic automatic sliding door 300 T perfectly adapts to the architectural design of the building. It is a flexible and efficient solution for the widest possible opening width.

Exceptional hotel architecture with iconic impressions on every step

The newly built Hilton Hotel Costabella in Rijeka, Croatia is a perfect combination of modern design and luxury. Different types of automatic sliding doors complete the exterior and interior for superior service and hospitality.

MAIN ENTRANCE: Esthetic and smart design

The efficient and custom-made double door entrance (vestibule) makes a great first impression at the hotel entrance. It elegantly connects the reception, lobby and cafeteria and consists of two different types of automatic sliding doors. A standard sliding door 300 with thermo leaf and insulating safety glass on the outside and a frameless sliding door 300 thales on the inside creates an almost invisible, yet functional passage.

Energy-efficient entrance prevents the entry of cold / hot air with no effect on the smooth people flow.

LOBBY: Panoramic elegance

A curved panoramic glass wall definitely sets a unique tone on the first floor. Here, the automatic sliding doors subtly and functionally connect the lobby with the terrace. A special reflective blue glass achieves a mirror-like appearance and blends transparently with the glass facade. From the interior, glass doors offer a beautiful view over the Adriatic Sea.

RESTAURANT & LOUNGE: Efficient service and culinary experience

Hands-free door opening in the catering areas ensures high performance when it comes to hospitality. It provides that employees bring excellent five-star service and the guests can move around care-free.

The frameless glass door gently and invisibly separates the restaurant and the executive lounge. A glass wall with a matte sticker enables privacy and prevents unwanted views into the more private part of the bar.

On the roof-top restaurant, the door functions as a connection between two spaces: the interior and the terrace. Due to the narrow and long outdoor space, an automatic sliding door ensures functional use of the otherwise limited space. Closed glass door still allows an efficient view to the other side, providing a clear perspective and control over the environment.

SPA & RELAX ZONE: Functionality meets comfort

Glass sliding door offers better accessibility and a harmonious ambiance. Personalized choice of profile colors allows elegant door integration into the interior. The maximum frame opening with a double-leaf door with a fixed side and top screen results in a greater flow of natural light, making the space feel warm and inviting.

Emergency safety

The hotel was designed with safety in mind. The redundant automatic sliding doors are installed on escape routes and equipped with an emergency switch. In emergencies, they ensure a safe evacuation for everyone.

Functional automatic sliding access for efficient service, excellent experience and human safety

The Ajda restaurant continues the story of local grain, which is also the red thread of the largest hotel of the same name in Terme 3000. It impresses with a fresh and modern interior, complemented by the functionality of automatic sliding doors at the entrance to the restaurant, kitchen and exit to the large terrace.

01 ENTRANCE: Floor to ceiling elegance

A glass automatic sliding door from the floor to ceiling allows a smooth passage for restaurant guests. It elegantly blends with the interior and makes a functional connection between two separate spaces – the hotel lobby and the restaurant. The invisible door drive, completely hidden in the ceiling, expresses an elegant design and visually creates a more spacious interior.

02 KITCHEN: Efficient service with hands-free door opening

The passages between the kitchen and the dining area are extremely busy due to the constant interaction. The standard automatic sliding door 300 allows simple, touchless access, making it easier for service staff to move around with full hands. On the way from the dining room to the kitchen, the door opens hands-free with just a wave of the hand in front of the Smart Switch. From the opposite direction, the sensor detects the human body and thus allows the door to open and close automatically.

At the same time, the efficient hands-free door opening ensures a high level of hygiene for both, employees and guests of the restaurant.

Smart Switch and sensor enable controlled touchless door opening that adapts to the user’s needs, offering a safe and efficient passage. As we approach body or hand to the switch, the door opens, otherwise it stays closed. The sensor detects the body and allows automatic and comfortable door opening with the possibility of adjusting the detection field.

03 TERRACE 2 in 1: Comfortable access & emergency exit

Exit to the terrace of the restaurant provides standard door opening/closing and evacuation in case of emergency. Guests and employees can escape to a safe place. Upon the activation of a fire signal, power failure or in emergencies, a redundant automatic sliding door 300 r and keeps it open, ensuring a safe way out for everyone.

04 FIRE DOOR: Safe fire barrier

On the other side of the restaurant, at the third entrance to the kitchen, a NON-ESCAPE fire automatic sliding door 500 F is installed. It functions as a standard automatic sliding door with a fire-resistant ability for 60 minutes. In event of a fire, the door creates a safe fire barrier and prevents the spread of fire from one fire sector to another. Escape is not possible.

Welcoming entrance experience in the mountains

The unique and modern Sports Hotel Soča, designed by SoNo architects, impresses both visitors and locals in the center of Bovec. The entrance to the hotel is sophisticated and functionally complemented by the automatic sliding door, improving the overall user experience.

Elegant transition between interior and exterior

A cube-shaped vestibule, elegantly integrated into the overall architectural design, gives a great impression on your way into the building. “It subtly connects the glazed area of a high-altitude foyer and the glazed ground floor of the public program. From a technical point of view, the door best meets all the requirements for building a hotel,” explains SoNo architects. Two telescopic automatic sliding doors 300 T in the form of a glazed vestibule ensure that one door always remains closed, preventing draughts and cold air from entering on windy days. Hands-free door opening allows visitors smooth access to a larger open space, where the lobby, bar and reception are connected.

Improved energy efficiency of the hotel

The hotel was designed with the rationalization of consumption in mind, with the entrance also having a significant impact on the energy efficiency of the whole building. Doorson automatic sliding door saves energy through greater control of airflow along with innovative energy-save function.

Whenever the doors are STILL, in CLOSED or OPEN mode, the door controller falls in SAVE MODE. Therefore, energy consumption drops to 0.4 Wh, which means lower electricity costs.

Safe way out

The hotel is just like a second home to many people. To ensure safety, it needs an efficient and functional emergency exit system that can withstand a large flow of people. Upon the activation of a fire signal, power failure or in emergencies, a redundant automatic sliding door automatically opens and stays open, ensuring a safe escape for everyone.

Smart design

Along with the service, this hotel’s architecture impresses at first sight. Smart product design, a wide selection of materials and many color combinations make an automatic sliding door a perfect architectural element for the hotel, enhancing the overall experience.

It effectively prevents heat loss and helps save energy, making an excellent vestibule. In emergencies, the redundant version of the door provides a safe and quick exit as it remains open along the evacuation route.

Connection between two spaces

Modernity and functionality harmonized in a private home

The private home reflects individual style with thoughtful design and personalized solutions of automatic sliding door at the entrance to the dining room and hallway, esthetically complementing the interior architecture.

Wood for complementarity and warmth

The villa combines functionality and elegance with the installation of a highly custom-made automatic sliding door. Its flexibility in dimensions, materials and colors, “the automatic sliding door is a part of a unified wall covering which embraces the main staircase,” explains architect Andraž Žitnik. The door drive with an integrated safety sensor is covered with wood paneling that acts as an equivalent door extension and discreetly connects with the interior.

Opens into the wall

The wooden automatic sliding door allows movement between the hallway and the living-dining area. When opened, the door is completely hidden in the wall and becomes completely invisible, which allows optimal use of the passage opening and gives the feeling of open space. “Sliding door provides a visual and acoustic barrier to the central living space from the rest of the villa.

“Automatic (sliding) door is less often used in individual houses, as the frequency of human passages is lower, but on certain projects, there is a need to use it due to better or easier functionality of the premises. Thus, for both reasons two types of automatic sliding doors were placed here.” This is how the architect Andraž Žitnik describes the starting point for installing the automatic sliding door in a private home.

The door as a mirror

The design of the door with an integrated drive into the ceiling and a mirror on one side of the leaf, “visually closes the staircase to the basement, as well as ensures the functionality of the vestibule. Its versatility is reflected in the ease of use, savings in heat loss in the colder months, the emphasized volume of the entrance space as well as the exceptional practicality as a mirror in everyday life.

Spatial flexibility and functional experience

Car dealership Volkswagen offers a comprehensive range of quality services for vehicles. It takes into account both flexibility and adaptation to the wishes of individuals, as well as integrity and an interdisciplinary approach. With the renovation, they focused even more on innovation, service quality and a better customer experience.

In the center of attention

Entrance is an important visual element in creating a great first impression. Custom-made curved automatic sliding door 300 C gives an inviting and exclusive touch, complementing the architecture of the building. A waterproof roof, thermo profiles with an extended canopy and integrated LED lights, built-in sensors and air curtain are possible. With a reflexive silver dark blue glass, we achieve a mirror effect and sun protection. It blends nicely with the glass color of the facade.

Smooth people flow experience

Efficient and safe entrance is important, as several people daily change in/out of the building. The 300 standard door enables easy and hands-free door opening, which ensures the smooth flow of a larger number of people. It perfectly matches the glass facade, improves the lighting of the space and offers a feeling of carefree passage.

Functional and elegant wide entrances

Usability and the flexibility of space for moving vehicles in car showrooms are crucial. The 300 T telescopic sliding door ensures smooth operation and creates a wider door opening passage. It adapts perfectly to the architectural showroom space, where the goal is to maintain flexibility and efficiency. A custom-made telescopic mechanism with two sliding leaves, both moving in the same direction, creates a larger passage with the maximum possible width of the opening. It allows the vehicle transition from one room to another.

New radiology department protected by lead-lined doors

The General Hospital Slovenj Gradec acquired an operating room with a new multi-purpose intervention X-ray machine, angiogram – the only one of its kind in South-Eastern Europe. Lead-lined automatic sliding door for X-ray rooms protects against radiation, enabling the safe and hygienic performance of angiography procedures.

Radiation protection comes first

Rooms for X-ray examinations or operations must be protected with special materials to ensure the safety of patients and medical staff. The lead-lined door is a special product for X-ray rooms that prevents the flow of X-rays, enabling an efficient, smooth and safe working environment. The door is insulated and connected to the angiogram and when the device is operating, the door remains closed. All doors in the room are highly custom-made to the wishes and solutions of the architect and the interior. They uncompromisingly meet all construction and safety requirements.

Radiation-proof and hygienic environment is a priority

Cleanliness is a key factor in maintaining a healthy and sterile environment. The smooth surface of the aluminum panel without edges ensures easy cleaning and efficient maintenance of high hygiene standards in the X-ray operating room. Doors, frames and leaves are protected with lead and powder-coated with highly resistant paints for disinfection and use. The lead equivalent thickness of the door is equal to 1.5 mm of Pb and meets the characteristics of the appliance in the room.

A windowless panel door offers additional privacy when preparing a patient for surgery in an adjoining room. The integrated windows in the door provide quick insight and break the monotony of the panel leaf. All lead safety glass in the door is also X-ray resistant and has the same thickness as the panel. This is reflected in a smooth door surface without edges, preventing the retention of dirt.

No bacterial transmission

Touchless technology is a simple and modern solution for hygienic door opening. All doors in the space ensure efficient, safe and hands-free entrance, which prevents the transmission of bacteria, remaining the room remains sterile. Built-in security sensors additionally enable a hygienic and reliable opening with the possibility of setting the detection area. Touchless door opening allows the hands and the room to stay clean even after the disinfection or before entering. The opening/closing door modes and access control can be determined by the user. Automatic sliding doors are also integrated in the rooms next to the radiology, which means that the entry of bacteria is practically impossible.

Uncompromising fire safety

Fire doors are an essential part of the hospital’s fire protection system to ensure the safety of everyone: patients, staff and visitors. The panel evacuation fire door 500 EFS is more resistant to surface damage compared to the glass door, providing EI30 fire resistance. In normal circumstances, it functions as a standard automatic sliding door, offering the benefit of a touchless door opening and safe closing. In the event of a fire alarm, a power failure or other emergencies, 500 EFS automatically transforms into a swing operation. The door represents advanced and innovative fire opening solutions for swing opening on ESCAPE routes, ensuring fast, efficient and safe evacuation and rescue. Despite its robust appearance it elegantly adapts to the architecture of the space, meeting all standards of fire protection.

Interview with an architect: David Mišič, Styria arhitektura

“The challenge is definitely the question of whether architecture and design can transform reality and whether the interior can represent the transition of a virtual media space into a living environment.”

We talked to David Mišič, head of the architectural bureau Styria Architecture, about the Tourist Agency Sonček project in the Aleja shopping center in Ljubljana, where he captivatingly and functionally designed the architecture of the space with frameless glass automatic sliding doors.

You’ve come across countless projects in your career. How did you start the project for the Agency Sonček in the Aleja shopping center? What was its central thread?

“With every project, regardless of its scale, size or location, we try to find new solutions. In fact, every project is basically a problem for the client, which is also an opportunity for a new solution. Agency Sonček is certainly one of those where we were looking for a new term on an extremely small scale.

Travel is a person’s inner inclination, full of positive emotions and needs. How to capture and personify the environment that one internally expects or relives, satisfy that frantic enthusiasm, and partially virtualize the space has been a key thread in the planning.”

We can notice the thoughtfully designed interior with accentuated details. Where did you draw inspiration from and what was your biggest challenge?

“The challenge is definitely the question of whether architecture and design can transform reality and whether the interior can represent the transition of a virtual media space into a living environment.

The feeling of walking on water and the sandy beach, observing gallery walls, panoramic places and the scenic landscape in the background are triggers that are supposed to encourage positive emotions for consumers in anticipation of the experience.”

We would like to take this opportunity to point out that in this project you have opted for the frameless glass automatic sliding door type 300 thales Doorson. We can notice a thoughtful and practically invisible integration of the door into the space. Was that your intentional move? How did you manage to achieve an “invisible” connection of the door with the interior?

“The door between the street and the bar is actually an almost imperceptible dividing line, which has the exclusive function of acoustic insulation and a barrier between public and semi-public space. With the help of Doorson’s sliding door system without frames, we managed to neutralize this barrier with maximum transparency. We also used non-reflective display glass which has no light reflections.”

How can you define the importance of the functional touchless entrance to the Sonček branch?

“The importance of a functional touchless entrance maintains maximum visual contact between two separate ambiances, in addition to the otherwise desirable spatial isolation and protection.”

Do you want to highlight another special feature of this project?

“Project Sonček is a good example of how inseparable design, architecture and technology are on the common denominator of creativity.”

An inspiring thought for the end …

“The line between the real and the virtual is becoming increasingly blurred and difficult to perceive. Space and time are changing their dimensions, even those that are less measurable. Reality is virtualizing and the virtual is becoming a new reality.”

No random opening, only “on demand”

Idyllic surroundings of Lake Bled are home to Park Café – a famous tourist spot, best known for the excellent traditional Slovenian dessert called Bled cream cake. Doorson automatic sliding doors greet you at the entrance of the café, where you can enjoy stunning views of the beautiful lake while sweetening up with Bled delicacies.

Easy movement with full hands

The café is rounded off by an outdoor terrace, which offers extra space for a relaxing break. Guests can enjoy the pleasant attention of the waiters, who don’t have to bother how to open the doors with full hands. This makes work much easier for them, as automatic sliding doors allow them to elegantly move in and out of the café.

Ensuring high hygiene standards

The popularity of the Park Café attracts a large number of people daily. Therefore, Doorson automatic sliding doors not only enable the smooth flow of guests, but also contribute to a higher level of hygiene with a touchless opening and closing.

No unnecessary opening

A touchless opening is also possible with the Smart Switch, which allows the door to be opened “on demand” – by approaching the body, arm or hand, otherwise it stays closed.

Such a combination is suitable especially for environments where every movement near the door does not necessarily mean changing the rooms. A Smart Switch provides additional comfort for guests sitting on the terrace near the entrance and at the same time protects the interior from the constant intrusion of external movements.

A safe emergency exit

As the main evacuation route in the Park Café leads through the main entrance, the built-in Doorson doors are redundant, which ensures a safe emergency exit. Safety is a key added value of Doorson redundant sliding doors, as they open automatically in emergency situations and remain this way unless they are in “locked” or “stop” mode.

Make the most of the space with telescopic doors

Apartments Skok are little beehive-like houses at the foothills of Golte, Slovenia. Its location makes them an ideal vacation spot, where guests can relax during all seasons of the year. The overall look of the tiny honeycomb houses is smoothly complemented by Doorson telescopic automatic sliding doors.

Functionality and elegance combined

Telescopic doors are perfect for places where a swing opening is not an option. Sliding leaves open one after the other, which makes them especially appropriate for areas with limited space. Moreover, 300 T doors provide an architectural solution that perfectly adapts to the appearance of a building.

Creating the illusion of a big window

Since the glass door allows the natural light to fill up the room, it is a perfect solution for creating a brighter space in windowless areas.

Hygienic door opening

An automatic opening enables a comfortable, clean and touchless passage that allows people to move carefree and without limits.

Company Fresenius Medical Care Slovenia has opened its 6th dialysis center in Maribor, Slovenia. It’s one of the most modern hemodialysis centers in Europe. It is built in accordance with the most recent building standards, and it’s also energy-efficient, automated and equipped with new technologies.

The medical practice is equipped with glass single-leaf automatic sliding doors that open on the sensor. Besides the health and comfort of the patients, hygiene is the most important factor in a hemodialysis center. With automatic doors, we increase this criterion, because we avoid the use of doorknobs which are one of the dirties and most infected objects in public areas.

The main entrance into the center enables an obstacle-free route and is adapted for the physically impaired. The architectural solution of the building is a good example of the energy efficiency of automatic sliding doors in windbreaks.

The combination of a windbreak and double automatic sliding doors enables a high standard of energy savings because they limit the air flow between the outdoor and indoor space.

The Royal House is located in Bled with a beautiful view of the Karavanke and the Julian Alps, right next to the world-famous golf course Royal Bled. It was built in the year 1938 and is a true pearl of landscape architecture. Its interior is decorated with frescoes and stucco by renowned Slovenian painters and sculptors. After the renovation, in which we also had the honor to participate, the house was returned to its sophistication and coziness.

Lightweight construction on the northern part of the Royal house with the entrance to the terrace fuses with its surroundings and does not interfere with the outer appearance of the building, which is especially important for monumentally protected buildings. The solution was reached with 300 thales which is a completely frameless glass door.

The brightness and openness of the space at the entrance is very important. We achieved it by choosing glass leaves without profiles and a hidden 300 thales drive operator.

The standard door from product line 300 is on a corridor preventing cold air intrusion. With a hidden drive operator into the lowered ceiling and opening of the leaf into the wall, it ensures a maximum clean passage opening and is an optimal solution in cases where there is no room for the opening of the leaves.

Telescopic automatic sliding doors 300 T open the passage to the store with a wide selection of sportswear and accessories. They offer maximum space and passage size since the two leaves are folded in one on the other. Double-sided telescopic doors are also available, where the two leaves are folded to the left and right sides.

Evacuation fireproof automatic sliding door 300 EF provides an easy passage because they act as a standard sliding door. In case of fire, they close mechanically but still allow evacuation thru a break-out function.

Jožef Stefan Institute is a Slovenian public research institute that collects, creates and disseminates knowledge in the field of natural and technical sciences and sciences of life. It deals with cutting-edge researches and technology development in various fields.

Institute chose for their offices’ glass walls with integrated automatic sliding doors. An excellent architectural solution that gives a pleasant feeling of openness to the room and fills it with natural light. The design is especially suitable in corridors with a larger number of offices, where the classic design with walls and doors would optically reduce the space and prevent access to natural light.

Opening of the door can be with a sensor or with a touch screen, which is especially appropriate in small areas where people move right next to the door, for example in hallways. When necessary we also can use different access controls, for example, a card reader.

Glassed automatic sliding doors ensure brightness to the room and represent a functional, elegant and comfortable solution. A sliding opening also interferes with less space than a swing opening. This way you can have your furniture just next to the door.

Employees at the hospital always put patients and their needs in the foreground. For their better well-being and easier movement in the hospital, contributes also our company Doorson which made more than 50 automatic sliding doors for them.

The use of automatic sliding doors in the hospital makes work and crossing easier for employees. For hygienic use and opening of the doors is a great solution to our touchless SENSE SWITCH. Doors open only when we want them to open.

“General hospital Murska Sobota is very satisfied with electric doors of the producer Doorson. Doors are reliable, affordable and easy to handle. Maintenance is also not a problem.” – General hospital Murska Sobota
